Tournament Rules for Boat Fishing
Each team is required to use a smartphone with video capability and a usb interface or
email access.
Videos can be both emailed or texted to the scorekeeper at ______________ email
All state fishing and boating laws must be followed Measuring boards used must be the ones provided at tournament check in
Lines in the water starts at 6am the day of the tournament and boats must return to the Harbor by no later than 4:20pm.
Anglers that start early or arrive late will be disqualified
violation of no wake zones will also result in disqualifications
artificial or live bait may be used for fishing
Everyone on the boat including guides may fish
No angler can receive help or assistance during the tournament from any other boat or person. This includes but is not limited to chumming holes, information on fishing via cell phones, text messages, radio, or hole sitting.
The only wade fishing permitted is off of the beaches of North Captiva Island. Wade
fishing anywhere other than North Cap is prohibited.
If fishing via boat, anglers may not leave the boat
Boats may assist disabled tournament boats and be late to the weigh in. Disabled boat
will be disqualified
In the event of a tie in the top three places, the first team to turn score card in will break
the tie.
Anglers are not permitted to fish in any location. That all anglers are not allowed to fish
No pet fish, ( no feeding, clip fishing, etc) and or daily activity that alters the behavioral
patterns of fish
always respect others and fish a respectable distance allowing others enough room to
fish. Hoarding or blocking others is not allowed.
Videos of fish on measure board may be no shorter than 5 seconds and must be clear
The Mystery fish is a weigh in and must be brought back to the dock alive. No more than
3 per angler or 6 per vessel can be brought to the dock.
Tournament Rules for Beach Fishing
Bait & Banter will also have a small beach fishing tournament for those that wish to fish from
THE SHORE of UPPER CAPTIVA FLORIDA between the South side of Captiva Pass and the
North Side of Redfish Pass.
This portion will have a $50.00 buy in and anglers must pay a
separate fee(s) of $65.00 to attend the Captains Dinner and/or Saturday Banquet.
This aspect of the tournament will have no specific set fish for target species, and the winner will
be judged off of the largest game fish caught ( IE: Snook, Trout, Redfish, Drum).
Contestants that wish to participate in this aspect of the tournament must register in person
Friday November 1st between 11-4 or Saturday November 2nd between 8 -11
